Repeat with a “leaf” color but only knit 20 rows before casting off. Feel free to use variegated or hand dyed yarns as they create wonderful effects. Machine felt until tightly felted, so that when cut they will not ravel.

Marvelous Mohair. This class will learn to work with a variety of grades and types of mohair preparations, cleaning dyeing and spinning.  Mohair is one of the most intriguing and confusing fibers on the market. The fiber has body and luster but comes in many grades and forms. This class is designed to help the spinner understand which grade of mohair and which style of spinning is suitable for the desirable project. If space and facilities allow, we will start with dirty mohair and learn how to wash and dye the fibers before spinning.

Class schedule: Sort and pick dirty mohair,  start a scouring dye bath, card adult mohair and spin woolen style, rinse the dyed locks, comb yearling mohair and spin worsted style.  Tease kid mohair and spin from the opened locks, and work with mohair roving.  Identify the grade of mohair from the lock structure and the feel of the fiber.
