#101  Dawn Edwards—Felt Bird Pods  Full day Wednesday  $100

Workshop Description:  Come and enjoy a fun day of wet-felting as you create a felt bird pod which is sure to be a hit with your feathered friends.  The bird pod will be made of naturally water repellent wool.  Small birds such as Wrens, Nuthatches and chickadees will use them for shelter and/or nesting.  This is a great introduction to 3D felting, employing the same techniques used in making hats, bags, slippers, etc.  Watch as our flat felt pieces become 3-dimensional!

Students should bring:  3 Bath size towels, A container for water (a beach pail is ideal), a laundry sprinkler or Ball Brause sprinkler if you have one.  (I will have several to share), Bubble wrap-2ft wide x 4ft long, Sharp pointed  scissors, a wooden spoon or rubber spatula for shaping and PVC pipe or Pool noodle for rolling your felt (may cut in half for easier traveling).
