Workshop Description: Are you in love with multi-colored yarns? Do you think it is difficult to dye them? This class will teach you the basics of how to dye a rainbow yarn in 1 pot! Class will also discuss other styles of yarn dyeing. You will learn how to dye bright vibrant colorful yarns, and how to control your dyes so you do not make mud. This class will also teach you how to fix a bad dye job. Students will be dyeing 2 skeins of yarn in this workshop. Instructor will also discuss how the same principles used in this class can be used to dye protein fibers.
Students should bring: Wear comfortable shoes, as we will be on our feet for most of the class. Wear clothing that is okay to get wet. Students should bring a mask to wear while using dyes. If students feel more comfortable wearing a mask for the entire class, the instructor is fine with them wearing a mask. Pens or pencils to take notes. Students will need to bring a metal pot ~10-12” in diameter, ~10-12” tall. If students want to dye their own protein fibers, they can bring up to a pound.
