#100 Knitting Basics - Learn to Knit by Kitty Bryan, Wednesday 9am to 4pm
Workshop Description: This class will introduce basic knitting techniques and projects. As a beginner, you will learn the history as well as the mechanics of knitting. Learn to read a pattern; to choose materials and tools; to cast on and cast off; to knit and purl stitches; and, to create garter and stockinette fabrics. You will receive directions for two simple scarves and the steps necessary to create your own independent projects.
Participants should bring: One wound skein of light-color, worsted weight wool or superwash wool. One US 7 (4.5mm) circular knitting needle with 24” cord. Pencil. Scissors. Stitch markers. Darning needle. Blank 3x5 cards. Crochet hook size J.
