#109 Joan Sheridan – Intro to Inkle Weaving Full day Wednesday 9am-4pm
#109 Joan Sheridan – Intro to Inkle Weaving Full day Wednesday $100
Skill level: Weaving experience helpful, but not necessary.
Workshop Description: Learn how to thread an inkle loom and read a pattern. We will make two bands in class, one plain weave and one using pick-up patterning. This class will open a whole new world to you, whether you are a reenactor or simply a modern crafter looking to expand your horizons. Bands have been used for thousands of years to contain things, close bags, keep hair neat, as a button band to match sweaters, to hold your socks up or your blouse to your body. No prior weaving experience is required.
Participants should bring: Inkle loom, belt shuttle, scissors, erasable colored pencils and note-taking material.
Homework: Ensure loom is in working order. If in doubt, send photo to instructor. Looms and belt shuttles may be obtained through instructor and delivered at class. Contact: Heritagespinning@gmail.com
Material Fee: $25 yarn, handouts, keychain hardware, heddle material, and other helpful weaving accessories.
Class Limit: 12
