#201  Joan Sheridan —Color and Weave on the Rigid Heddle           Full Day      Thursday  $100

Skill level:  Beginner-Intermediate

Workshop Description: Once you have mastered warping the loom, it is time to add some color!  This class explores color and weave on the rigid heddle.  Although it is plain weave, the fabric created can have many faces depending on how it is woven.  Each student will re-select 3 colors and will make four 16 inch wide towels.  Students will be weaving by the end of the day and weaving will be completed at home.  Lecture will include understanding color and weave, making wonderful selvedges, warp management and more.  The instructor will contact students prior to class to confirm equipment requirements.

Students should bring: :  Working rigid heddle loom 15 to 25” wide with a 12-dent heddle, tape measure, heddle hook, 3 shuttles either 16” long or (preferably) boat shuttles with bobbins, warp separating paper or sticks for a 4 yard warp, warping peg or clam, loom clamps and anything else you use when warping your loom. 

Homework:  Collect all supplies ( it’s a good idea to mark your supplies with your name.)
