Skill level: Intermediate experience level is recommended for this class. Students must have experience working with fine yarns.
Workshop Description: Learn a couple of alternative methods for creating nupps (rhymes with soups), an Estonian Bobble-type texture used in Estonian lace knitting. Also learn about the Estonian way of casting on and binding off lace, and knit some sample lace stitch patterns.
Students should bring: One light-color of lace-weight (or fingering-weight) yarn, one set of needles (size 3 or 4 for lace weight; size 5-6 for fingering-weight), one needle that is 2 sizes larger (used only for cast-on), and one double point needle (dpn) that is 1-2 sizes smaller with a sharper point.
