Workshop Description: - Learn basic dyeing techniques! We will be covering a variety of processes including - immersion dyeing (natural dyes and Greener Shades TM), speckle dyeing, Shibori, Kool-Aid, and eco dyeing. The course will cover dyeing wool comb top, wool yarns, cotton yarns, mohair yarns, raw silk fabric, and cotton fabric.
Students should bring: Large stainless-steel pot, 5-gallon bucket, scissors, measuring spoons, liquid measuring cup, 2 sticks (12” long and not more than ½” thick), needle, thread, and additional materials to dye if desired. Students are welcome to bring additional leaves, flowers, yarn and/or fabric to experiment with. Printed instructions will be provided to each student

Material Fee: $50 The material fee covers silk and cotton fabric, 8 skeins of yarns, wool comb top, silk roving; Shibori materials; clamps, cardboard, foliage for eco dyeing; natural dyes (logwood, weld, and avocado), iron water, vinegar, salt, 9 colors of Greener Shades TM dye, Kool-Aid; printed instructions.
