After retiring in 2005 Letty wrote and self-published a book about using the wool from her sheep to make braided rugs. In 2006 the self-published book 'The Shepherd’s Rug' was born and is now in its 3rd printing.  Letty has traveled the country from coast to coast and north to south pairing rug braiding workshops with wool fleece judging. She has raised American Karakul sheep since 1982 at Pine Lane Farm in Kalamazoo, MI.
