Workshop Description: Ever wondered what it takes to make core-spun yarns with basic coils, slubs, and bobbles?  Have you considered what you would use those artful yarns for?  In this class we’ll answer your basic art yarn questions and I’ll teach you the beginning skills of core-spinning gentle and tight coils using techniques I’ve learned along the way. You’ll leave with a better understanding of not only how to make art yarns your way, but you’ll know how to use them in your knitting, crocheting, weaving., and other fiber arts.  This class is open to all spinners who are already able to spin a consistent single and know how to ply.

Students should bring:  Materials include 2-3oz of prepared spinning fiber (arts batts and combed top) and some core single yarn, along with a WPI tool, and resource guide filled with handouts, information, tips, and tricks. Additional supplies may be made available the end of class for an additional fee.
