Workshop Description:  Learn all the basics for preparing wool for spinning and felting! We will focus on using hand cards for wool prep, the simplest method, and so versatile. Learn how to create rolags, as well as how to use add-ins such as silk & bamboo for fabulous "mini art batts". The drum carder will also be introduced, and we will talk about what to look for when purchasing your first hand cards and drum carder. Move beyond combed tops for your spinning and felting and learn how to create your own custom fiber blends! 

Students should bring:  Any fiber you'd like to card and/or blend

Material fee: $25 Covers: Basic wool for learning the hand cards, as well as a few add-ins for artistic blends, plus a laminated reference card for reminders of all you've learned
