#105 Letty Klein-The Shepherd's Rug, A Braided Rug from Roving  TWO DAYS Wednesday & Thursday Full Days 9:00am to 4:00pm

Description:  This 2-day workshop is for the fiber artist with a closet full of fiber or the shepherd wishing to make something from their own sheep or other fiber animals. You'll spend the first day braiding while the instructor will talk about colors, shapes, techniques, examples, and stories. At the end of the day, the instructor will take all the braids to a laundromat overnight to felt them. Day-2 will be spent sewing the braids together. while the instructor will talk about rug care plus other hints and more stories. 
 The Industrious student should be able to finish a small (2' x 3' or 2' x 4') rug.

Students Must Bring:  Please bring your own roving or any roving that you have, about 3-4 pounds. There will be roving available from Hidden Valley in the class. Mohair or Alpaca roving should contain about 20% wool. Thick roving with long-stapled fibers works best but I can show you how to use any roving.

Material Fees:  $25 Covers:  All equipment needed, EXCEPT the roving.
