#305 Heidi Bukoski—Tablet Weaving Full day Friday $100
#305 Heidi Bukoski—Tablet Weaving Full day Friday 9am-4pm Pavilion North $100
Skill level: Beginner
Workshop Description: Tablet weaving produces bands of woven fabric that are often used as straps, for decoration, or binding. They can also be sewn together to produce wide fabric. Examples of tablet weaving have been dated to 800 BCE. We will go through all the steps necessary for weaving from calculating and winding a warp to interpreting a draw down and dressing a “loom”. We will discuss how these steps translate to any loom. Participants will learn the process of weaving and explore and create different patterns from the same threading.
Tablet weaving can be an introduction to weaving or a versatile addition to the repertoire of the more experienced weaver. It is definitely a technique weavers should know.
