#423 Tammy Jordan —Chain Plying Essentials Half day Saturday 9am-noon  Bldg 9 North   $50

Skill level:  Intermediate

Workshop Description: Have you wanted to get learn how to chain ply or become more proficient in your chain/Navajo plying techniques? This is the perfect class to learn, or brush up on your chain plying skills. We’ll go over the benefits and drawbacks of chain plying, what it’s best used for, and when to use this plying technique. This class is best suited for those students who can already spin a consistent single and know the basics of plying.

Students should bring:  Students should come prepared with one bobbin of spun singles and two additional empty bobbins, along with a lazy Kate. All wheels must be in good working order and students must have a basic understanding of how their specific wheel works. This class is not a wheel mechanics or maintenance class.

Homework: Students should come with one bobbin of already spun singles still on the bobbin.

Material Fee  $15  Includes 2-3oz of prepared spinning fiber (we’ll all be spinning the same fiber to keep everything consistent), a WPI measuring tool, and a resource guide filled with handouts, information, tips, and tricks.

Class Limit:  10
