#103 Joan Sheridan — Weave a Flock of Sheep on the Inkle Loom Full Day Wednesday $100
#103 Joan Sheridan — Weave a Flock of Sheep on the Inkle Loom Full Day Friday 9am-4pm Bldg 10 South $100
Skill level: Intermediate
Workshop Description: How fun to weave sheep! A good next step after learning plain weave on the inkle is to weave turned krokbragd. This technique is derived from floor loom weaving and is Scandinavian in origin. It is a loom-controlled weave, so it is easy to weave--the magic happens in the set up. You will learn how to read a pattern, set up the loom, and weave a sheep band. A pattern for a second band is included. Students must be able to warp their loom independently.
Students should bring: Unwarped full-sized inkle loom. Mini inkles are not suited for this technique. 25 premade double heddles, scissors, shuttle, note taking materials.
Homework: Make heddles using the instructions found here or bring Texsolv heddles sized for your loom. https://youtu.be/im8tIcUZhzM, also see link to PDF in the video notes.
Material Fee: $30 Includes: Handout with two patterns, 5/2 cotton, separator sticks, keychain hardware, and other materials to assist in warping.
Class Limit: 12
